C.H. 2011-2012 (Day 2)

21-12-2011

Hello world! I managed to survive today. My second (well third) day in France. I'll include pictures in this posting. Let's start!

So the weather was crap today. T_T Non-stop heavy "light" rain throughout the whole, entire duration of the day. Damn. I did absolutely nothing today. I spent the day babysitting my gran-nan  and my brother.

So this morning, I woke up at around 12 and had a sexy breakfast. Pain au chocolat.~ <3

I had a wonderful conversation with my better half for over an hour. Had a "quick" shower and got dressed. Then lunch was to be prepared. The cooker in this appartment is gas opperated. And the gas tank has been empty for a few days now. Helpful. With the "adults" away I had to come up with a solution to our lunch problem. However, fate was not favouring me today. There is much food in our frigde that cannot be cooked without an oven or a cooker. The majority of food in there would turn into an epiccookingdisaster if attempted to be cooked in the microwave. Fortunately, with my cunning wits (mostly common sense I guess), I just made do with what we could eat raw and heated in the microwave. We reheated the left over mashed potato from yesterday, the boiled potatos that were used to make the mashed potato from yesterday (my brother doesn't like mashed potato) and ham. Lunch. Yipee.

I basically did nothing else. Played harvest moon of the gameboy (on the laptop lol), watched t.v, read some manga (slam dunk XD) and listened to my ipod whilst my gran-nan complained about how my uncle doesn't look after her, doesn't listen to her opinions, saying how she wants to go to an old people's home. Bless her. I've also had to put up with my brother's intoxicating farts. He's got diarrhea. Noice.

Luckily for us my grandfather bought a new gas tank this afternoon for the cooker. So we were able to cook something for dinner. I told my gran-nan that I would prepare something. I said this at 6p.m. and I went back to sit down and write this blog. My gran-nan seems to enjoy doing the opposite of what she is told. She started to look around the kitchen and started to cook. GOSH! IT'S 6P.M.!! wahkdksjhfldf. I. Am. Frustrated. She fried the left over boiled potatos from the day before yesterday's mashed potato with chicken fillets. She left them in the pan for about 45 minutes after turning off the cooker. Of course it was only normal that the chicken was rock hard when it came to eating them an hour later. T_T Sigh. I did not come to France on my "holiday" to be frustrated and stuck babysitting a 90 year old (who is slowing making me lose my mind) and an intoxicating-gas-going-through-puberty 12 year old boy. Aish. The only thing that made it a little better was my dessert. The nicest tasting yogurt that I have ever eaten. I have loved this since I was a kid. La Laitière.

If you ever get a chance to come to France, please give this yogurt a try. Personally I think that the vanilla flavoured one is the best but feel free to try out all the different flavours.

Goodnight to all!~
